Artificial Intelligence
You have probably heard the news that major companies such as Microsoft and Google are using Artificial Intelligence to improve their search engines. There are talks about ChatGPT and Bard, but what do we know about artificial intelligence? How will this help us in our daily lives?
Even though Hollywood movies and science fiction novels represent AI as robots that act like humans that slowly take over the world, the evolution of AI is not that scary. To better understand what we are talking about, we must define what it is. Artificial Intelligence is, in computer science, the systems or combination of algorithms to create machines that mimic human intelligence to perform tasks and improve according to the information they collect.

AI, learns from experience
Artificial intelligence is a field that uses robust datasets and computer science to solve problems.

Simulates human intelligence in machines
AI, is programmed be able to learn, reason and other actions related to humans
Nowadays it is being used to make our lives better. According to Bill Gates, A.I. will now be able to assist us in making jobs more efficient since it now has the capacity of understanding what is read and written. It is a conversational bot that can respond to users’ questions, write essays, legal briefs, and even computer codes.
AI adds intelligence to existing products. In most cases, AI won’t be launched as an individual application. In its place, the products you already use will most likely be improved with AI resources, just like Siri was added as a feature in new generation Apple products. Search engines, like Bing, are adding AI to deliver better searches and more complete answers.
We don’t stop to think about artificial intelligence, but we face it in our day-to-day lives with maps and navigation, facial detection and recognition, text editors or autocorrect, digital assistants, e-payments, etc. But does this mean we will be replaced in our jobs by technology? Don’t worry as artificial intelligence is still limited in its abilities, and many jobs require a human touch that cannot be replicated by machines.
